CHINONYEREM ODIMBA WINS WRITERS’ GUILD AWARD 2022 FOR
BLACK LOVE
We are very excited to announce that Black Love won the Best Musical Theatre Bookwriting award at the 29th Writers’ Guild of Great Britain Awards.
The ceremony was hosted by WGGB President Sandi Toksvig OBE and was held on Valentine’s Day “as a gesture of appreciation to writers and the creative industries who have endured a challenging two years but have kept audiences entertained throughout the pandemic.”
Chino said “I am delighted to have won this award personally, but also because it’s for a show which is my first co-production as Artistic Director of tiata fahodzi. I am very proud of everyone involved in making this show again and a big thanks to Ben and Max Ringham for a brilliance in bringing the words to music so beautifully, and all the team at Kiln Theatre and Paines Plough. Black Love is very special show to me and this win very special too!”
